I’ve been on a mission to find a version of “I got Shoes” I heard several years ago, which I could have sworn was by Mahalia Jackson. But the youtube version I found is not the one I heard. I sure wish I could find that version that is stuck in my head. I’m not sure it was a cappella (I think it wasn’t), but I’m sure it was a single female voice, very strong, great restrained vibrato and not a single flat note. Still looking….
