Note – this post is not the latest/current queue status report – see the latest status report here.
Current ebay message queue: (NOTE I have a 48 hour -two business day – turnaround time on ebay messages, which is in accordance with ebay standards. I am not open on weekends or federal holidays and they do not count toward the 48 hours/two business days. If your email involves a lot of typing or my looking something up, it may take longer – I’m not amazon.com, y’all. If you don’t hear from me within two business days, I promise it’s not personal; I could be behind from answering every single question that comes across my desk, and I get a ton of them, or yours could be taking longer due to my having to look something up for you or list something for you, or I could be in the emergency room with my child, but I guarantee you I have a good reason, and it has nothing to do with wanting to blow off clients. If you’re going to get pissy about such things, you’ll want to shop elsewhere. If you have been blocked from bidding, though, I don’t read or answer your messages anymore – see below).
I have blocked a lot of bidders lately for being unreasonable, rude, and/or not reading the damned item listing and payment acknowledgment email.
This is not Burger King and we are not open 24/7 with operators standing by and you cannot have it your way; you can have what is advertised, and you will get what is advertised. What is advertised is my personal attention and custom-made or custom-finished items, and within those parameters, you can have it your way – but that does not mean anything goes, and it does not mean you can treat me like a vending machine or a tireless source of free spell advice and hand-holding. What is advertised is that if you need more time to pay, you need to discuss this with me *ahead of time,* not presume that those warnings I plaster all over the place about the software opening an unpaid item case do not apply to you. And if you ignore those, it doesn’t mean you get to be offended because the software closed the case before I could get to your message in the queue — it means you will get blocked from making future purchases and I will not be inclined to read any more of your messages. What is advertised is that I answer all my messages (if you’re not blocked) — it does not mean you can pester me and I will just smile and take it because it comes with the job. Nope – that’s the joy of being self-employed. I get to fire customers. I will block you if you abuse me. You most certainly cannot act like a whiny, paranoid brat and accuse me of not doing altar work on your mojo bag or not customizing your custom spell kit, and expect me to bend over backwards to make nice with you. I don’t do feedback blackmail – you can bite me and find somebody else to harass.
Blocked ebay buyers:
If you are wondering if you’ve not heard back from me because you’ve been blocked, here is the list of buyers I’ve blocked lately – if you are on here and want to talk about the situation, you’ll have to email me directly, because your ebay messages will not reach me. The majority of these are non-paying bidders, so you shouldn’t be surprised if that’s you, but I’m open to talking about it if something came up and you couldn’t get to a computer to talk with me before a week had passed from your purchase date – stuff happens, I get it. The blocking is just a sensible precaution. (If you are just wandering by this post, don’t freak out if you see initials on it that could be yours and you and I have never had an issue with a transaction – there are probably lots of people in that state with those initials. This is just for people who are wondering if their not hearing from me yet is due to their being blocked – if you read things, like listings and blog posts, you are probably never going to end up on this list.)
[If you are wondering why it takes me so long to answer emails in general, dealing with this non-paying bidder and message back-and-forth stuff is part of the answer.]
